TreeP: A Self-reconfigurable Topology for Unstructured P2P Systems

چکیده
We present an efficient and robust network topology for managing distributed resources in P2P-Grid environments. This topology is called TreeP and exploits both features of P2P and grid computing models. It uses P2P properties in looking for available resources, while using Grid properties to implement communications and computations on a distributed computing platform. Here, we present how this architecture is distributively built and maintained, the related properties and our first experimental results. We show that this topology is very scalable, robust, load-balanced, and easy to construct and maintain.

A Layered Interest Based Topology Organizing Model for Unstructured P2P
There are two pivotal problems in unstructured P2P system: Topology self-organization and query algorithms, however, the former is more important because a well-organized topology can dramatically improve the performance of query algorithms. This paper develops a new mechanism to organize topology based on a hierarchical representation of interest—SACM (self adaptive community-based model). In ...
متن کاملConstructing a Balanced, (log(N)/loglog(N))-Diameter Super-Peer Topology for Scalable P2P Systems
Current peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing applications are remarkably simple and robust, but their inefficiency can produce very high network loads. The use of superpeers has been proposed to improve the performance of unstructured P2P systems. These have the potential to approach the performance and scalability of structured systems, while retaining the benefits of unstructured P2P systems. Ther...
متن کاملAOTO: adaptive overlay topology optimization in unstructured P2P systems
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems are self-organized and decentralized. However, the mechanism of a peer randomly joining and leaving a P2P network causes topology mismatching between the P2P logical overlay network and the physical underlying network. The topology mismatching problem brings great stress on the Internet infrastructure and seriously limits the performance gain from various search or ro...

متن کاملPopularity-based scalable peer-to-peer topology growth
Peer-to-peer (P2P) networks have gained importance and spread significantly during the last decades resulting in raised research interest in this area. The basic premise of P2P design is higher scalability and many existing large-scale applications, such as Twitter and Skype, use a form of P2P design. Although structured P2P designs enable one to guarantee finding of every item (rare or popular...
